Did Not Confirm 60FPS For Xbox Series S!

Story Highlights
  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is only two days away from its release.
  • The developer has confirmed that the game will offer 60 FPS on consoles.
  • However, they haven’t specified if the Xbox Series S will run at this frame rate.

Though 2023 is almost over, it will always be remembered as one of the greatest years for the gaming industry. It not only offered many anticipated titles but also became the year to debut the first GTA 6 trailer.

However, this year still has a little more to offer. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is Massive Entertainment’s next big AAA title, promising to take players on a grand adventure through this rich universe.

The game was recently shown to the media and garnered positive reactions. Adding to this positivity, the developers have confirmed a 60 FPS mode for the game on consoles.

Why it matters: While the Avatar franchise is considered a big name in the film industry, it has yet to make an impact in the gaming business. Therefore, this AAA title is quite significant for the series.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

During a recent interview with Wccftech, the developers discussed various parts of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, confirming that no movie characters will appear in the game.

However, when asked whether the game would offer a 60FPS mode on consoles, the developer replied:

“Yes.”

Still, it is not yet known whether the game will offer performance mode on Xbox Series S. Recently, Alan Wake 2 skipped this mode on the budget console, so Massive Entertainment could go a similar route.

Nonetheless, 60 FPS is now the standard in the gaming industry. With console players used to the smooth and responsive gameplay of this frame rate, titles like Redfall, which skipped performance mode at release, are often criticized.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Massive Entertainment also confirmed that the game offers cross-play support across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Amazon Luna. This will be helpful for friends looking to try the co-op gameplay across different consoles.

We believe these are essential features for any modern AAA title, and Massive Entertainment appears to have ticked all the boxes with this release.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be available worldwide on 7 December. The reviews for this game also go live tomorrow, so fans should stay tuned to learn whether this game will be a worthy part of the Avatar saga.
