Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Fans Not Happy With Basim’s Teleportation

Basim Can Teleport In Mirage!

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is focused on classic Assassin’s Creed mechanics like stealth and parkour. This focus on classic elements has brought back many fans to the franchise, and Ubisoft recently shared several minutes of gameplay to highlight these mechanics.

While reception to the gameplay has been mostly positive, one small snippet has left fans concerned about the game. During an assassination, Basim teleports to kill three enemies in rapid succession.

While this looks incredibly stylish, fans believe it takes away from the game’s realism.

Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed has featured mystical elements in recent games, but many were hoping for a more grounded experience with the latest entry.

Fans have been discussing the mechanic on various platforms like Twitter and Reddit. Many have commented that Basim’s teleportation ability stands out from the rest of the game’s grounded approach.

Others have offered feedback, asking Ubisoft to portray Basim’s speed without teleportation. This would make it look more grounded while using similar animations for the assassinations.

On the other hand, many have attempted to explain the teleportation. Fans on Reddit believe that Basim’s movements are too fast for the Animus to capture, leading to a broken rendition.

Others claim that Basim’s connection to the ISU could allow him to use certain mystical powers.

Previously, games like Batman Arkham Knight have featured a similar ability.

Batman’s fear takedown allowed him to take out multiple enemies in quick succession, but this animation did not include any form of teleportation. Some fans have also suggested that Ubisoft should use Batman’s fear takedown as an inspiration, making Basim’s chain assassination similar to Batman’s takedowns.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is releasing on October 12. With an exciting setting, classic mechanics, and a focus on stealth, many fans are hoping the game will bring a breath of fresh air to Assassin’s Creed.
