Story Highlight
  • CD Projekt Red has clarified on Twitter that it will come together with Unreal Engine to present at The State of Unreal event.

  • We might get our first glimpses of gameplay or new footage after the initial trailer reveal late last year.

The Witcher 4 has been one of the most anticipated RPGs on the market ever since its reveal late last year. Despite controversies and developer remarks from time to time, we haven’t seen any more official footage since. However, that might change pretty soon.

CD Projekt Red says that The Witcher 4 will appear at the State of Unreal presentation this week. The developers will join Unreal Engine to present and showcase the technical prowess of the RPG.

Why it matters: Fans are quite excited after CDPR confirmed that The Witcher 4 will appear during the State of Unreal event since it won’t have a big presence at the Summer Game Fest.

CD Projekt Red mentions on Twitter that ‘some of the innovative technology’ and features that will power The Witcher 4—and beyond—will be shown at the Unreal Fest on June 3rd. That suggests we might see some new official content for the RPG after months of waiting.

It’s unclear whether CDPR will reveal gameplay to boast about the visual and optimization leaps that will be made possible using Unreal Engine 5. However, the briefing might be limited to only the technical details since the title won’t be ready until at least 2027.

Fans also theorized that CD Projekt Red might reveal more The Witcher 4 details and footage at the Summer Game Fest, but the CEO shut down the rumors. He said the studio is currently focused on releasing Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2.

The Witcher 4
The Witcher 4 will have more player freedom than before and tougher choices.

For those not in the know, State of Unreal is Epic Games’ big yearly update that details the future of Unreal Engine and what’s next for the Epic ecosystem.

These upcoming innovative technologies will be used in The Witcher 4, which will also likely fix issues associated with AAA games using UE5.
