A new AAA game with a big budget is being developed in Unreal Engine 5. It is called The Legend of Jin Yong.

Why it matters: China is going all in following the success of Black Myth: Wukong. The Legend of Jin Yong seems pretty promising, so fans now have something else to look forward to.

The game has just been officially announced, and fans are in for a treat. Thanks to the 100th anniversary of Jin Yong’s birth, TuSimple obtained the authorization of “Jin Yong’s Heroes” from Minghe Publishing House. 

While the project has been planned for a long time, the developer is looking forward to revealing more information. It will be an open-world martial arts game developed via Unreal Engine 5 and released on PC and consoles.

It is completely rooted in Chinese culture and will recreate the classic characters by taking the scenes directly from novels. Chinese fans would be glad to know that yet another influential novel series is being adapted as a video game. 

The game is produced with UE5, rooted in traditional culture, recreating the classic characters and more than 120 classic scenes from several martial arts novels by Jin Yong

Some rumors are circulating, claiming Sony has already snatched the exclusivity deal. If true, it won’t be released on Xbox Series S|X, just like Black Myth: Wukong

The release window hasn’t been revealed yet, but we are expected to learn more about it next year. Also, it is said to look even better than the recent Chinese hit, so fans can have high expectations.
