Huge Deal Secured By Xbox!

Story Highlight
  • A reliable leaker suggested that Xbox signed an exclusive deal with the creator of Assassin/s Creed to work on a new AAA project.
  • It’s been said that the title is being developed using Unreal Engine 5.
  • The developers appear to be planning to launch this project by 2026 or 2027.

While Xbox didn’t have a great start to the year, the gaming giant has been doing incredibly well after last week. During the recent showcase, many exclusive titles were shown, and more are reportedly being saved for upcoming events like Gamescom.

Adding further excitement, a reliable leaker suggests that Xbox is signing even more exclusive deals for the future. It seems Xbox is now joining forces with the creator of Assassins Creed

Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed stands tall as Ubisoft’s biggest franchise nearly twenty years later. It has also sold more than 200 million units.

One of the most reliable leakers in the industry, eXtas1s, has recently discussed on the eXputer forum the Xbox exclusive deal with the Assasins Creed creator. It has been claimed that Xbox is working on a new project with the Montreal-based Panache Digital Games.

Panache Digital Games was founded by the original creator of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Patrice Desilets. Therefore, this project is already more exciting than most upcoming games.

While the leaker hasn’t revealed much about the title, he states that it is being worked on using Unreal Engine 5, and the developers pitched the title to Xbox as they were looking for publishers.

The leaker has also heard from insiders that Panache Digital Games is targeting a 2026 release date for the title.

An insider source has reason to believe that Panache is planning a 2026 or even 2027 release window for the title.

However, since the game is in early development, the release date could be changed over time. Still, the title is a few years away from its release.

Xbox signed a similar deal with the Batman Arkham creators not too long ago.

While both of these projects are several years away, the talented teams behind them could lead to huge hits for Xbox. This could also be the beginning of a bigger focus on third-party exclusivity.

Perhaps Microsoft will continue to seek out new studios formed by veteran developers in hopes of reaping the benefits in a few years.
