Nvidia Wants To Rule SFF Market Too!

Story Highlights
  • Nvidia’s new program aims to assist in selecting parts for mini-gaming computers.
  • The new program will entirely depend on AIB partners to provide SFF components.
  • Users will now be able to purchase SFF components according to Nvidia guidelines.

Together with its partners, Nvidia is developing a new ecosystem of small gaming PCs, or SFFs, that come equipped with a GeForce compact Enthusiast graphics card. According to WCCFTech, Nvidia aims to assist mini PC designers in selecting the optimal parts.

Although there are various ways to assemble a mini PC on your own, there isn’t a set of standards or rules nor a precise list of what hardware should be used with one another.

PC gamers are drawn to the SFF, or Small Form Factor, market for several reasons. It saves room and allows builders to put together some inventive rigs to satisfy their gaming needs.

Though DIY components have been a major source of support for the SFF PC market, there isn’t a definitive list of compatible hardware in the industry. However, Nvidia’s new program aims to do just exactly this.

This new program will let Nvidia collaborate with partners to manufacture components that include chassis, power supplies, and more, in addition to graphics cards. This is significant since SFF builders typically have fewer options for parts.

They must also choose a power supply, establish enough cooling and air circulation, and maximize the space inside the chassis.

Although Nvidia will not be producing any graphics cards or other components on its own, partners will be able to build compact, compatible components that may be integrated to create a compact PC that satisfies the ”SFF Enthusiast GeForce” standard thanks to a shared set of guidelines.

GeForce RTX 4060 & 4060 Ti series graphics cards will be the first to implement this new standard as a real compact ITX (SFF) solution since the labels will be put on both new and current graphics cards from manufacturers.
