OneXplayer unveiled the OneXplayer 2 Pro during a special event, their brand-new top-of-the-line portable console. It uses AMD’s top-tier APU, which is none other than the Ryzen 7 7840U. It supports up to 64 GB of RAM and has a larger screen and improved battery life.
The OneXplayer 2 Pro is inspired by the Nintendo Switch for its design. This suggests that the controls fastened to the chassis can be removed. Thus, the controllers can be operated wirelessly. A small QWERTY keyboard can also be attached to it for added versatility.
Regarding the specifications of the OneXplayer 2 Pro, it has an 8.4-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, twice the resolution offered by the Steam Deck and even higher than the Full HD of the ASUS ROG Ally (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).
The best option to play is to limit everything to HD resolution for performance and battery life. This panel recognizes up to 4,096 pressure points. The console will arrive with the Windows 11 operating system.
The AMD Ryzen 7 7840U is nothing more than an APU with 8 AMD Zen4 cores and 16 processing threads at a Turbo frequency of 5.10 GHz. These are accompanied by an AMD Radeon 780M graphics card with 768 Stream Processors clocked at 2.70 GHz—the same GPU as the ASUS ROG Ally.
All this is accompanied by up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, compared to the 16GB offered by the two consoles already mentioned for comparison. It will offer a PCIe 4.0 SSD of up to 4 TB capacity in storage—a big difference compared to the 512 GB ceiling of the competition. Of course, you can always buy an NVMe SSD and replace it.
It will integrate a very generous 65.5 Whr battery. This is a notable difference from the 40 Whr of the ASUS ROG Ally and Steam Deck.
Unfortunately, the company didn’t say anything about the launch price or when the OneXplayer 2 Pro would be available is unknown.
