GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB To Come With Higher 165W Power Draw

Slightly Higher Power Draw!

The upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti from Nvidia will reportedly be based on a new GPU variant with increased memory, along with higher board power. These new specs for the GPU were found in the documents provided to the Nvidia board partners.

Aside from the increased power and memory buffer, both the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and GeForce RTX 4060 non-Ti will be based on the same PG190 board. However, the GPU variant used on the Ti variant will be different and will use AD106-351 instead of the AD106-350 found on the non-Ti variant.

Furthermore, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will share the exact CUDA core count as the non-Ti version. But some changes needed to be made to the GPU’s physical design, which is why Nvidia decided to bump the AD106-351 to 351 GPU.

Bumping up the memory from 8 GB to 16 GB will result in more power draw. According to the document, it will only result in an extra 5W power increase over the GeForce RTX 4060 at 160W.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060

Aside from that, increasing the memory buffer would also result in an increased memory clock, though we are not sure if the upcoming RTX 4060 Ti will also be limited to the 18 Gbps memory clock of the non-Ti version.

According to Chinese Board Channels, Nvidia has now also stopped the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti production, which has reached the end of its cycle. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti was one of the best cards from 2020, with a price tag of $399.

Hopefully, the price for the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will remain the same, offering a better price to performance value than its predecessor. Nvidia will also be facing tough competition from AMD this year.

The red team is also gearing up to launch the Radeon RX 7600 and Radeon RX 7600 XT this month. Both of them will serve as direct competitors to the GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is expected to launch in July, while the 8 GB non-Ti version will launch alongside the Radeon RX 7600 on May 24th.
