90W Less TGP But Will Cost $100 More Than Its Predecessor!

The price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 was somewhat confirmed through different sources recently. But now we have official confirmation from Nvidia regarding their upcoming mid-range graphics card.

Foreign media website, Videocardz got its hands on the specification slide of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070. According to the slide, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is indeed based on the AD104 GPU, though there is no information on how many CUDA cores the card will feature.

The slide also mentions that the GeForce RTX 4070 will have 35MB of L2 cache. Compared to that, the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti feature just 4 MB of L2 Cache. At the same time, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti comes equipped with 48 MB of L2 cache instead.

Furthermore, the overall bandwidth of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is lower than that of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti features a memory bandwidth of 608 GB/s compared to 504 GB/s on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070.

Users upgrading from their GeForce RTX 3070 will receive a higher cache and bandwidth and 12GB of GDDR6X memory running at the 192-bit interface. The GeForce RTX 4070 features 448 GB/s of memory bandwidth.

The average power draw of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is also lower compared to its predecessor. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is now advertised to have a total rated board power of 200W. Compared to that, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3070 are much higher at 290W and 220W, respectively.

The GeForce RTX 4070 is currently confirmed to be sold at an MSRP of $599. Similar to that of the launch price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. The price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is better than that of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 40-series. However, it’s still a $100 increase over the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070.
