Developer Rocksteady Studios has revealed much new information about Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. In addition to several minutes of never before seen gameplay footage, the developer has highlighted the mechanics and systems featured in the upcoming release.

Features like the previously leaked Battle Pass have now been announced. Rocksteady has also elaborated more on the online focus, confirming that players need an active internet connection, even for single-player

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League offers a co-op mode with four maximum players, but the game allows single-player gameplay. 

Previously, games like Redfall have gone through a similar route, always asking for an active internet connection. This was an unpopular decision for Redfall, and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has received similar criticism for the announcement.

While most people today are almost always connected to the internet, having an online-only limitation can be a big challenge for game preservation later on. The gaming industry has already shifted focus to digital media, and the growing popularity of online-only games will only make preservation more challenging as time goes by.

The FAQ further confirmed that the title aims for 60 FPS on consoles, while a full list of system requirements for PC will be revealed later. Fans can also expect plenty of updates for the game with cosmetic customization options.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will release on May 26, marking Rocksteady’s first entry in the gaming industry since 2015. The game is also set in the Arkham universe, five years after Batman Arkham Knight’s events.
