Nintendo Aims To Deliver AAA Gaming Experience With Switch 2!!

Story Highlight
  • Leaked details reveal a larger, slimmer design with improved Joy-Con features like battery indicators and a more secure attachment mechanism.
  • The console is expected to support high-end games and feature a variety of accessories, including a new steering wheel and a PlayStation 5-style controller.
  • The Switch 2 is rumoured to launch in January 2025.

While we’ve already seen the full design of the Switch 2 in this week’s leak, and it came out again in a rubber case yesterday, today we have additional details from one of Nintendo’s main leakers.

The console is described as Triple A (AAA), which is modern, and in part, it will be because, as they say, “the devil is in the details.” Therefore, in today’s Switch 2 leak, we will discuss its accessories, the Joy-Con, size and weight, and additional details.

The date continues to approach, and all the rumours follow the same line: January 2025, to be exact, at the end of said month. Today, we have more proof that the leaked design is correct, but it also has interesting and relevant details that cannot go unnoticed.

Switch 2 Will Be an AAA Console With New Features & Plenty of Accessories

Several accessories are being prepared for this console, including a “new” steering wheel to include in the Joy-Co or a PlayStation 5-style controller to make it more comfortable to use more ergonomic, nothing that we had not seen before the original Switch, but adapted to the new Nintendo devices.

Other minor but interesting new features that have been leaked beyond the Switch 2 accessories are the battery indicators on the front of the Joy-Con, which let us know when we will run out of power in each one. Another minor detail is that the console and its accessories will be officially revealed before the launch of Donkey Kong HD, so we understand that this will arrive in February.

Nintendo Switch Size, Weight And Other Details

There are more things to cover, minor but relevant. The console will measure 273 mm long by 118.5 mm high and only 32.5 mm thick, larger than the Steam Deck.

At the same time, Nintendo has managed to achieve the impossible. Switch 2 is said to be lighter than the Steam Deck console, making it perfect for holding in your hands for much longer, something children will surely appreciate. As if that weren’t enough, the ZL and ZR buttons are confirmed to be larger than those of the original Switch.

Another minor novelty is that the magnetic Joy-Cons have a hooking system that confirms their attachment to the console with a click to release them. There are two release buttons on the back of each Joy-Con; they are individual.

And that’s all for this new leak loaded with data and details, where the most striking visuals are the Switch 2 accessories. Still, the small improvements that Nintendo has implemented are the most relevant, which people like, especially regarding the size/weight ratio.

On the other hand, analysts are positive about the new console, considering that new research firm data revealed that Switch 2 is expected to sell up to 17 million units in 2025 alone.
