Sony Is Concerned Over The Live Service Model!

Story Highlight
  • Helldivers 2 is one of the most successful games of 2024.
  • However, Sony decided to add the PSN restriction to this game, which caused a massive controversy.
  • Now, after Concord failed, Sony is conducting a survey to ask for fans’ feedback, which shows that the gaming giant is concerned about the live service model.

Helldivers 2 is one of the surprising games of 2024. The game shocked everyone on release as it attracted hundreds of thousands of players. It sold over 12 million copies is just 3 months which shows the success of this live service title.

However, Sony added a PSN restriction, instantly making the game the center of controversy. Due to this restriction, 85% of the player count was dropped on Steam. Lately, there haven’t been many players playing this live service shooter, and the developer has started asking fans for their feedback amid Concord’s failure.

Why it matters: Concord is the biggest failure of 2024, as the game went offline just 15 days after the release, so Arrowhead Game Studios might be concerned about its game.

Please share your feedback about Helldivers 2 in this survey!

The official Reddit account of Arrowhead Game Studios shared the survey on Reddit to ask for fans’ feedback. The survey seems to have been conducted by the PlayStation research team, and after reaching a certain quota, the developer pulled out the link.

Fans are trolling the developer in the comments section, as Helldivers 2 has been in a very critical situation lately. Recently we have witnessed the biggest failure of this year, Concord. It was a live service shooter so it makes sense why the developer is conducting the survey now.

Fans are also pointing this out in the comments section in a rather funny way. Zegram_Ghart on Reddit asked why Sony wanted feedback on one of its highest-grossing live service titles. The continues to extend the troll by saying something could have happened recently to make them nervous about a live service game.

What the user is talking about is pretty obvious. Also, fans are claiming the survey to be stupid and wondering if the shareholder meeting is coming up next. Helldivers 2 currently has less than 10K players on Steam. The game is by no means a failure, but it could have had a much better fate.
