Black Myth: Wukong Becomes The Best-Rated Steam Title of 2024 By Peak Players

Another Massive Milestone For The Monk!

Story Highlight
  • Black Myth: Wukong is the most-played single-player title of all time on Steam.
  • Not only that, but it has now become the best-rated title on Steam of 2024 by peak players.
  • This is a massive milestone for the Chinese RPG that has been breaking records every now and then.

Black Myth: Wukong surprised everyone with its launch. Many were expecting high numbers for the game on Steam, but it surpassed everyone’s expectations by almost every single record on the platform.

It destroyed every other single-player game and became the second-most-played title on Seam, tailing just behind PUBG. Now, it has achieved yet another massive milestone, becoming the best-rated title of 2024 on Steam by peak players

Why it matters: The Chinese action RPG took the world by surprise, and it wasn’t just a fluke, given the positive reviews. Those who have actually played the game have nothing but praise for it.

There are some games that are better rated than Black Myth: Wukong on Steam like Balatro and Satisfactory. However, looking at how many reviews they got, the comparison is just not fair

For instance, Wukong has nearly 1.1 million reviews; meanwhile, Balatro has just over 100k. With more reviews, there tend to be more negative ones, especially when the title has such a massive scale.

That said, the ranking here is determined by the player count, and of course, there isn’t any game released in 2024 that has more player count than the Chinese RPG. So, ranked by the peak players, it has the most positive reviews, which makes total sense.

It is highly unlikely for another single-player game to reach this level of success, but the gaming industry is full of surprises, and we hope to be surprised more often. No one could have imagined, possibly not even the developers, that this title would destroy records like nothing.

Unfortunately, Black Myth: Wukong didn’t win Game of the Year 2024, but it has won the hearts of over a million players, which matters the most.

What do you think about the famous Chinese RPG being the best-rated game of 2024 by peak players? Do you think it deserved the GOTY award over Astro Bot? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for further discussion.
