- Uncharted 4’s multiplayer mode needs more attention because it is well-crafted and contains all the goods from the story mode.
- The multiplayer mode has unique maps not found in the story mode, new weapons, special abilities, and more.
- The mechanics have remained the same as in the story mode, so if you enjoyed the story mode, you will love the multiplayer mode.
Uncharted 4 is one of the most renowned games on the PlayStation 4 and is a favorite of many from the franchise. It is loved mainly because of its action-packed gameplay, well-directed story, and likable characters. However, there’s more to this game that many players don’t pay enough attention to: its multiplayer mode.
Story Mode Inspired Multiplayer Experience
Uncharted 4’s multiplayer is one of the best multiplayer modes ever created. When you step into the game, you are immediately immersed in the action, which is very similar to the type of action we see in the story mode.
And considering how well the action in the story mode is crafted, the gameplay in the online mode automatically gets better as the NPCs get replaced with real players who react more realistically.
What I liked the most about the multiplayer mode is that the animations, climbing, shooting, and play styles feel the same as in the story mode. So, those who have loved the story mode will automatically fall in love with the multiplayer mode.
Multiplayer Exclusive Maps
The locations in the multiplayer mode are also interesting. In the story mode, we get a short map of different places, such as the auction hall in Italy, the mountains of Scotland, a market area in Madagascar, and many more.
Moreover, these maps aren’t just a copy of the story mode maps but are entirely new areas inspired by the story mode locations. We get a fresh map experience with these new areas in the multiplayer mode, and they are also crafted to fit the multiplayer gameplay best.
In every multiplayer mode map, you will find small structures that are climbable from several positions, different hideout spots, and ways to move from one point to another.
Combined with amazing parkour and smooth mechanics, these small things give the player an incredibly immersive experience. I found the Madagascar map the most interesting, mainly because of its vibe and how you can move around.
Special Abilities To Boost The Online Experience
Along with the unique and never-before-seen locations, the multiplayer mode introduces special abilities players can use in matches. These abilities are called mysticals. Some of these elements are the Wrath of El Dorado, the Cintamani Stone, and the Spirit of the Jinn, which were taken from previous games.
It was a great idea to turn these elements from Nathan’s past adventures into special abilities as they serve as a tremendous fun booster in multiplayer mode and are a great way to throw back and pay tribute to the previous games.
That’s not all; Uncharted 4’s multiplayer also brings another feature: the ability to spawn four different types of sidekicks. These include Sniper, Hunter, Saviour, and Brute. Each sidekick significantly contributes to the match by taking on the opposition team or supporting you and your teammates differently.
Unique Weapons And Play Modes
In addition to special abilities, the multiplayer mode brings players unique weapons. This is more true for throwable weapons. You get smoke bombs, mines, C4s, revive packs, and grenades.
The weapon addition in the guns department is considerable. Still, the throwable weapons are where they take it up a notch as they profoundly affect the offensive and survival strategy in a ranked match.
The play modes are also interesting. You get a large variety; some of the best are King of the Hill, Team Deathmatch, and Bounty Hunter. I like Team Deathmatch the most, but the other modes are also fun.
For Uncharted 4, What are the most played modes besides TDM?

Hi! I’m Ali Tauseef, and I have been writing for Tech4Gamers since 2022. I love all things computer hardware but am particularly fond of CPUs and motherboards, and I like to stay up-to-date about the latest advancements in these worlds, and when possible, write about it. When I’m not doing that, I like to get into a little FPS action in CS2 or get lost in the vast world of RDR2.
