AMD’s new flagship shows some killer performances but comes with a premium $599 price tag, which means it’s more expensive than the competing 14900K. While productivity performance is mostly on par with this Intel beast, the 1080P gaming performance falls behind.

The Ryzen 9 9900X is AMD’s new flagship 12-core gaming chip but with lower base frequencies and a 120-watt rating. Its $449 price tag makes it compete with the 7800X3D and 13900K, but the former is a far better gaming CPU, while the latter is much better for both multi-threaded workloads AND gaming.

AMD Z2 Extreme is expected to offer better performance and might be the first to get showcased next year through ASUS.

The price of Ryzen 7800X3D has seen a noticeable bump after the launch of Ryzen 9000 Series, proving its popularity.

Once dominated by Intel, all of the top 10 best-selling CPUs on Amazon currently are AMD, with Intel's best-seller coming in at 13th.

Qualcomm is rumored to be moving forward to acquire its biggest rival in the CPU market to further its advancement outside mobile.

AMD is currently developing new APUs to compete against other competitors in the mobile workstation and gaming market.
