- The new Star Wars Outlaws Title Update 1.4.0 removes the controversial forced stealth mechanic from the game entirely.
- The players no longer have to restart from checkpoints after being discovered during stealth missions.
- The update improves enemy AI and detection. You can also expect better character facial expressions during cutscenes.
Among many recent failures, Star Wars Outlaws was perhaps Ubisoft’s biggest blunder this year. From the company’s plummeted stocks to the director’s unhappiness with the review scores, almost everything that could go wrong, went wrong.
However, the studio has apparently not given up on the game, as a new update completely removes the forced stealth segments from quest objectives.
Why it matters: The new Star Wars Outlaws update is a step in the right direction, giving players more choices during quests. Better enemy AI and facial expressions during cutscenes are also a huge plus.
In a new blog post, Ubisoft details that the Star Wars Outlaws update is designed to give players more choices during gameplay. You can now go guns blazing after failing to do a quest stealthily, instead of having to restart from checkpoints. Additionally, enemies will act more naturally in quests due to AI and detection improvements.
This Title Update brings changes to combat and stealth allowing for greater player choice.
That’s not all; the update also touches on NPC facial expressions, making them appear better during cutscenes. It also fixes many notable bugs and touches on many other general gameplay elements.
All in all, it remains to be seen whether the new 1.4.0 update will bring back at least some of the players that the game already lost.
