- A recent update to the Silent Hill 2 Remake web page hints at Xbox and Switch ports.
- The title’s exclusivity ends in a couple of days, so the announcement seems very likely.
- Recent rumors also point to the DLC Born From A Wish being in the works.
The Silent Hill 2 Remake was released last year as a timed exclusive for the PS5 and PC. It received excellent reviews, with many calling it better than the original. With the exclusivity period coming to an end, it may soon be available on more platforms.
According to a Silent Hill 2 web page update, the title will likely be available for two additional platforms down the line. This hints at probable ports for the Remake on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Why it matters: The game’s exclusivity was supposed to last for a year, which will be over on October 8th, so we can join the dots and take the hint that we might see the announcement of new ports soon.
The web page update now displays two additional slots when inspected using the browser. These slots are located in the areas where the platforms are listed, as shown in the image above, hinting at imminent releases.
It was only a matter of time before the ports would have arrived due to timed exclusivity. While we could’ve guessed the Xbox one, the Switch wasn’t expected, but considering we have the Switch 2 now, it makes sense.
Recent rumors also suggested that Konami might announce the ‘Born From A Wish‘ DLC soon. With the end of the exclusivity period, this could be the ideal time to announce the expansion, along with the ports.
Silent Hill 2 Remake was a massive success, selling over 2 million copies. It even led to Konami’s profits skyrocketing last year. They would want to capitalize on the success of the Xbox and Switch ports.
