Resident Evil 9, also known as Requiem, was finally announced during Summer Game Fest 2025. The game took everyone by surprise, but one mystery has yet to be answered: Will Leon be in the game? The answer is still unknown, but it seems like the fandom is really digging into this mystery.

The game has now reached the top 5 most-wishlisted titles on Steam. Resident Evil Requiem is currently in the fourth spot, sitting just behind Subnautica 2, Deadlock, and Light No Fire.

Why it matters: Capcom has not confirmed whether Leon will be in the game. Despite that, the fandom is quite excited about the upcoming Resident Evil title, with many fans certain their favorite character will make an appearance.

On Steam’s most wishlisted tab, Resident Evil Requiem can be seen in the fourth spot. In fifth place, we have Kingmakers, which is a highly anticipated medieval strategy shooter.

There is still quite a lot of time left before the release of the upcoming Resident Evil title, so it is expected that the game could reach the top spot shortly. The game is set to release on 27 February 2026.

Different insiders have claimed that Leon is indeed in the game. However, Capcom has not revealed even a hint about him being involved. He also is not the main character this time, as Capcom has already confirmed Grace as the main lead.

Resident Evil Requiem
The upcoming Resident Evil will be closer to RE2 in tone than RE4.

The game will also feature a true horror experience, to the point where it will include a third-person mode to tone down the intensity.
