IO Interactive has been quite busy with their upcoming James Bond title, Project 007, which was first revealed in 2020.
Although there has been no follow-up information on the title, we may soon get a proper look at the game. A reliable insider has claimed that Project 007 can appear at the upcoming Summer Game Fest on June 6th.
Why it matters: Project 007 is one of the most ambitious upcoming stealth games from a renowned developer. Fans have been waiting for the game for quite some while now, and they can finally rejoice that the wait is about to end.
While replying to a user asking if Tomb Raider, Project 007, or The Wolf Among Us 2 would be showcased at the Summer Game Fest, NateTheHate replied that at least one would.
The new Tomb Raider game has also been in development for quite some time now, and earlier leaks have suggested that an official reveal is imminent. The Wolf Among Us 2 is also scheduled for this year and has been in the works since 2018.
That said, Project 007 has the highest chance of being revealed at the Summer Game Fest. It was just teased at the recent Nintendo Showcase, suggesting a Switch 2 release.
Details on the game are scarce, but the developers revealed that Project 007 will be an origin story.
Moreover, our job findings also suggested that Project 007 would feature first-person gameplay, akin to the GoldenEye game. It’s not IO Interactive’s first venture into the stealth genre, so we can expect an experience similar to GoldenEye, if not better.
