New Plague Tale is Already In the Pre-Production Phase!

Asobo Studio’s latest title, A Plague Tale Requiem, came out just a few months ago. The game saw great reviews and ended up being a fantastic release in a year, with over one million copies sold in just two weeks of its launch.

With Asobo Studio’s latest release wrapped up, many have wondered about the developer’s next endeavor. A new job listing hints at that, providing evidence for a brand-new game.

As spotted by Emopulse, Asobo Studio is hiring a Senior Game Designer(A Plague Tale), hinting at a future Plague Tale title.

The listing talks about the beginning of a new project at the development studio and states that the recruit will work on the pre-production phase. It mentions that Asobo is brainstorming a new project at the moment.

While this does not provide big hints about another Plague Tale game, Asobo Studio’s job ad also mentions some other points. Experience with any of the two Plague Tale games is considered a plus, and the ad asks for experience or interest in a narrative adventure game

The job ad seems to imply that Asobo wants to hire people familiar with their work, which can be considered a hint toward another Plague Tale game.

A previous rumor also hinted at a potential racing game from Asobo Studio. This rumor claimed that the developer was prototyping the game for Xbox. However, it would not be surprising to see the developer working on both games simultaneously.

A Plague Tale Requiem saw many accolades, and the game was even nominated for Game of The Year at TGA 2022, competing with renowned games like Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok.

The developer has shown great potential with their previous works, and a follow-up could allow the team to explore new gameplay mechanics and stories, providing an even better experience.
