Perfect Dark was one of the victims of the recent Xbox fiasco. Not only has the title been canceled midway through development, but the studio working on it, The Initiative, has also been shuttered as part of a restructuring.
However, the lead actor of the game has asked the fans to rally around her and help revive Perfect Dark despite the cancellation. While it might not change anything, she says that it is worth a try.
Why it matters: Despite the controversy surrounding the Perfect Dark showcase at the Xbox event, fans were looking forward to the reboot, and many of them later voiced their frustration when it was canceled.
Alix Wilton Regan, who was set to play Joanna Dark in Perfect Dark, took to X to request fans to help her revive the game. She said her DMs have been flooded with people asking her about the project, and she wants them to speak up.
Perfect Dark was first announced back at The Game Awards 2020; however, its first comprehensive gameplay was revealed last year. Although it has since been under fire because it claimed that it was fake.
However, the lead designer says most of the things were as shown, and it was from an early build of the game. So, considering how the game still seems to be in a not-so-late development stage, the revival seems unlikely.
