- The game sold 1 million copies in less than 24 hours, meaning it sold 14 times faster than its predecessor.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, one of the most hyped games of 2025 was finally released on February 4. The game reached 160k concurrent players on Steam and has received a positive reception from the fandom.
Even the critics have praised it a lot for doing everything better than the first game in the series. In less than 24 hours, KCD2 managed to sell 1 million copies which is 14 times faster than what its predecessor managed to do.
Why it matters: Kingdom Come Deliverance sold around 1 million copies in two weeks while its sequel managed to sell the same amount in less than a day.
Just a day after the game’s release Warhorse Studios confirmed that the game has sold 1 million copies and thanked the fandom for the support. KCD sold 500 copies in 2 days so the game managed to sell twice the copies in half the time.
Over a million of you have stepped into our world. We’re beyond grateful for your support – thank you for making KCD2 a triumph!
This is a pretty impressive feat and just shows how the first game in the series managed to grasp the fandom’s excitement. The game is likely to see even more success as the reviews from the majority have been positive so more players may pick it up.
Even just after a day, the game has already recouped its budget and now has sold over 2 million copies. So, it already has been extremely profitable for the studio.
While the game has been receiving mostly positive reviews there are some ongoing controversies. The first one was very valid as the fandom was enraged due to the exclusive pre-order quests. Following, that another controversy started as the game’s negative reviews on Steam mentioning DEI were getting banned.
