Following 3 delays, Rockstar has finally set in place a November 19th release for later this year. Yet insiders and recent reports remain skeptical that Rockstar will meet a 2026 release, with the game expected to be further delayed.

Fortunately, that won’t be happening as Take-Two has just confirmed that they’re on track for GTA 6’s current release date. In fact, marketing for the game will kick off soon in summers.

Why it matters: Fans will be delighted to know that GTA 6 isn’t getting delayed again. After more than a decade of hiatus, Rockstar’s magnum opus is finally making a comeback.

Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, had its quarterly earnings call today, in which it discussed GTA 6, which is the biggest project it’s ever put out so far. 

Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer.

The summer season begins in June, the same timeframe as video game showcases. As such, expect more information on the title, including our first look at the gameplay, then.

In any case, reports have suggested that the game has been content-ready for a while and Rockstar was just working on polishing it, aiming to release it in a perfect state, as expected from the biggest release of all time.
