GTA 4 Remaster May Be On The Way!

Story Highlight
  • The Rockstar Games support website has listed GTA 4 for the PS4.
  • Past rumors also suggested that current-gen ports of the title were in development.
  • An announcement could come next month once Take-Two hosts its quarterly investor call.

GTA 4 remains among the few Rockstar Games titles not available on the latest console hardware. The gaming giant recently remastered Red Dead Redemption in an effort to bring it to a broader audience, and since then, fans have asked the same for GTA 4.

Although reports suggest a current-gen port of the game is currently being worked on, not much has been said by Rockstar Games itself. Fortunately, the studio’s support website may have leaked the existence of a new console release for GTA 4.

Why it matters: GTA 4 is not available on the PS4 or PS5, making it extremely difficult for millions of gamers to play. Even the PC version is in dire need of an update, and this is a shame since fans hold the game in high regard to this day.

GTA 4 Listed For PS4
GTA 4 Listed For PS4 via Rockstar Games Support

Over on the Rockstar Games Support website, the PS4 is currently listed among the platforms for GTA 4.

This is interesting since the game is officially available on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Because of the recent rumors regarding this particular title, this listing could be an unintentional leak from Rockstar Games.

The studio could be gearing up for an official announcement regarding the title since the Red Dead Redemption port was announced at a similar time two years ago. If the website is to be believed, GTA 4 will likely receive new versions for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Whether the game receives a direct port or a proper remaster with 60FPS and higher resolution support remains to be seen, but the listing certainly has fans excited to learn more.

GTA 4 Is Considered One of The Series’ Best Entries To Date

The same website also hinted at PS5 and Xbox Series S|X versions of Red Dead Redemption 2, so this GTA 4 platform listing may not be a coincidence.

Since Take-Two is set to host its investor call later next month, an announcement regarding one of these titles could show up around this call. This would certainly keep fans busy till the release of GTA 6 in 2026.
