Xbox Games Showcase has become one of the best gaming events of the year. After last year’s action-packed event with wonderful announcements and world premieres, the latest event was also filled with great reveals.
Fans have been very vocal about it, stating that the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 was the best event during the Summer Game Fest.
Why it matters: While others did bring important announcements like Resident Evil 9, they were mostly boring, unlike Xbox’s event, which was highly entertaining for the most part.
In Geoff Keighley’s poll on X, around 70% of the fans voted that the event was at least an A or B. The general consensus in the comments is also quite positive, with fans calling the event better than Keighley’s main event at the SGF.
The Xbox Games Showcase was undoubtedly a solid show, featuring some massive reveals. Announcements like a new A Plague Tale, Xbox handheld, Indiana Jones DLC, Final Fantasy 16 to Xbox, Black Ops 7, were the highlights of the show.
While fans say that this year’s showcase was solid, they still argue that Xbox set the bar too high last year, making it difficult for them to match it themselves. For context, last year had world premieres of Gears E-Day, Doom, and more.
Nonetheless, Xbox’s role as a publisher is solid, considering its titles have been doing well on all platforms, despite the console sales not matching the numbers. Now, fans can look forward to a bunch of new releases as well.
