Ready for Switch 2 and More.

[Press Release] Elgato has revealed the Game Capture 4K S, a compact external capture card built for today’s streamers and content creators. As a follow-up to the popular HD60 X, it offers big upgrades, including true 4K 60FPS recording, ultra-low latency, and broad device compatibility.

With zero-latency passthrough and a 30ms preview delay, 4K S ensures smooth, real-time gameplay capture. Even fast-paced titles like Call of Duty or Apex Legends run seamlessly on your main display while being recorded or streamed without delay.

Designed for current and future hardware, 4K S supports all major platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2. It also works directly with iPads using USB-C, letting creators capture gameplay without extra setup or drivers.

From cinematic 4K60 visuals to high-frame-rate formats like 1440p120 and 1080p240, 4K S balances fidelity and performance. HDR10 passthrough up to 4K60 and VRR support ensure smooth visuals, while HDR10 recording is available at 1080p60 on Windows.

Despite its slim design, 4K S includes analog audio input for native team chat, and a USB-C connection for plug-and-play use on Windows, macOS, and iPadOS. It’s UVC compliant, working flawlessly with OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Zoom, and TikTok Live Studio.

Alongside the hardware, Elgato introduces Elgato Studio, a modern replacement for 4KCU. The app offers low-latency previews, efficient performance, and features such as snapshot capture. Users can also tweak settings and test beta features directly in the software.

The Elgato Game Capture 4K S is now available for $159.99 on the official Elgato webstore.
