Story Highlight
  • Dying Light: The Beast has opened to a massive 90K concurrent players on Steam.

  • It also sits at ‘Very Positive’ reviews on Steam and has a Metacritic score of 78.

Dying Light: The Beast is the latest installment in Techland’s acclaimed franchise. The title first surfaced as a DLC-sized project, but later developed into a full-fledged experience. The game is finally out, and it has hit decent numbers at launch.

At Launch, Dying Light: The Beast has reached around 90K concurrent players on Steam. While it hasn’t beaten its predecessor’s launch, the number is quite decent for a single-player game, and it is expected to grow over the weekend.

Why it matters: The title was already gearing up for a huge launch as Techland confirmed it was wishlisted over a million times. So, considering even half of those players bought it, we are looking at huge incoming numbers.

Dying Light: The Beast managed to hit around 90K players at launch

Dying Light: The Beast currently has around 88K players on Steam. The reviews are also sitting at ‘Very Positive’. While it has received a 78 on Metacritic, most outlets have given it an above-par score.

The Metacritic scores for the franchise have always been a bit harsh, considering fans really like it. The first game scored a 74, despite being a fan favorite, which makes The Beast the highest-rated game in the series.

Additionally, the original game managed to hit a peak of just 45K players, while the sequel did manage over 250K players at launch. This makes Dying Light: The Beast somewhere in between, unless the player count increases.

Nonetheless, the player count for Dying Light: The Beast is expected to grow over the weekend. It has been released on a Thursday, so it has plenty of days to gain more traction, and maybe even beat the concurrent players on Dying Light 2.
