It was previously revealed that the game would feature the biggest levels in the franchise’s history. However, that is not it; recently, the Cosmic Realm trailer has been released, revealing that there will be 22 levels in this game, meaning Doom: The Dark Ages will feature the biggest campaign in the franchise.

Why it matters: Eternal was released in 2020, so it has been five years since the latest Doom game was released. The biggest campaign fact makes it worth waiting for a new game for half a decade.

Hugo Martin, the game director on Doom: The Dark Ages, has revealed that there will be 22 levels in the upcoming title, along with tons of gameplay innovations.

We gave this everything we had, left no feature unpolished: we have 22 levels of incredible FPS single-player combat; tons of gameplay innovations like the Shield Saw, flail, and new crazy guns.
