Larian Is Increasing The Scope Even More With Its Latest Entry!

Story Highlight
  • Larian’s latest title, Divinity, will be the studio’s biggest and most ambitious title yet.
  • Geoff Keighley says it’s bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3 and the rest of the studio’s entries.
  • It currently doesn’t have a release window, and not much is known about it yet.

Before there was Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios was known for its CRPG series, Divinity. After the studio revealed that their next game wouldn’t be a Baldur’s Gate sequel, there was anticipation as to what the next project would be.

And Larian took a grand route to reveal its next. Before The Game Awards, a massive statue emerged, and fans wondered what it could be. Today, at the event, they revealed it was for the studio’s biggest game ever, Divinity.

Why it matters: The Belgian Studio is associated with huge games offering substantially sized maps and hundreds of hours of gameplay, but Divinity will be the biggest of them all.

At the game’s reveal, Geoff Keighley described Divinity as bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3 and the studio’s biggest game ever. It isn’t clear if he’s talking about the game length, but we can assume it’s about the overall scope.

Divinity will be placed as a part of the franchise, but the studio says you don’t need to play older games to understand it; however, if you do, that’ll add additional lore. It’s also the first time it’s being called just ‘Divinity’.

The title was shown off with an explosive trailer, which also featured the mysterious desert statue. The studio head, Swen Vincke, also described the project as their biggest and most ambitious RPG yet.

However, the game doesn’t have a release window for now. Larian adopts an early access model as it did with Baldur’s Gate 3, but that hasn’t talked about it, at this point. Nonetheless, it could an another incredible entry from the studio.
