A PC Launch Could Be Coming Early Next Year.

Story Highlight
  • Death Stranding 2 has been rated by the ESRB for PC, signaling that a release is coming soon.
  • ESRB has rated the title Mature 17+ for PC.
  • The sequel has been out on PS5 since June and could potentially head to PC in 2026.

2025 has blessed gamers with a flurry of great releases, with generational titles like Expedition 33 making it a year to remember. Arguably, the most ambitious game this year was none other than Death Stranding 2 from Hideo Kojima.

The Japanese auteur somehow outdid himself once again by creating one of the best sequels in the medium’s history. And now, millions of PC players will get to play the action-adventure title sooner rather than later.

Why it matters: A universally acclaimed title like Death Stranding 2 deserves to be experienced by a broad player base.

Death Stranding 2 is set to launch on PC in the near future.

The ESRB has rated Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PC, suggesting a release on the platform is imminent. The game is unsurprisingly rated Mature 17+ due to strong language, violence, and a lot of bloody gore, just like the PS5 version.

PC players have been clamoring to play Death Stranding 2 ever since its initial release in June. And they won’t have to wait much longer, as historically ESRB ratings are finalised in a few months, like Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox Series.

The Kojima Productions sequel has earned universal acclaim, raising the bar for video game visuals, with many even mistaking the photorealistic characters for real life.

Death Stranding 2 earned universal acclaim from fans and critics.

In addition, more than 80% of users continued playing even after finishing the game, which is highly uncommon. But unsurprisingly, Hideo Kojima was still unhappy with this result since he considers Death Stranding 2 just ok

Sony could also use the extra profit from the PC port, as the lack of sales figures for Death Stranding 2 suggests it is struggling to meet the company’s internal expectations.
