- Crimson Desert is set for a gargantuan launch with around 400k copies sold already.
- It has also reportedly already generated over $20 million in revenue from Steam alone.
- The title is set to be one of the biggest AAA launches, especially for a new IP.
Crimson Desert is easily going to be one of the most successful games of 2026, especially in terms of economics. The game had over 3 million wishlists already 2 weeks before launch, and new sales data suggest massive sales as well.
A new report from an analysis site reveals that Crimson Desert had already sold around 400K copies on Steam as of March 16. It has already reportedly generated a massive revenue of over $20 million as well.
Why it matters: Pearl Abyss’s title is gearing up for a massive launch, which could be historical, especially for a new IP. The game has a lot of promise, and all signs point towards it delivering big time.

According to Alinea Analytics, Crimson Desert sales as of March 16 were 363K units on Steam, helping them with a revenue of $20 million. The game has been wishlisted over 2.2 million times just on Steam.
Just in March alone, the game was wishlisted over 680K times. Interestingly, from pre-launch figures, Crimson Desert is tracking even better than Expedition 33 and Kingdom Come 2, which were both massively successful.

A huge chunk of players derive from people who were already fans of The Witcher 3 and Elden Ring, two of the best RPGs ever created. So, if it can walk along the same lines, it could also achieve legendary status.
Crimson Desert reviews are expected to go live tomorrow, with the pre-load available later today. It has all the makings of a great title, but we will get a better idea when the game finally comes out in less than 2 days.
