Black Ops 7 Is The First CoD Game Not To Top PSN Pre-Order Charts

Battlefield 6 Outselling Black Ops 7!

Story Highlight
  • Black Ops 7 becomes the first CoD title not to top the pre-order charts on PSN.
  • Battlefield 6 currently has more pre-orders in comparison.
  • Steam reports a similar scenario with Black Ops 7 not even appearing in the top 25 best-sellers.

For the first time in almost a decade, Battlefield has finally caught up to the competition with Call of Duty. With Activision lagging behind in quality releases for the past few years, EA stepped in at the perfect moment and won over the FPS fans.

As such, this year’s Black Ops 7 is already destined to be a failure. Surprisingly, it is also the first-ever CoD game not to top the pre-order charts on PSN, which may force Activision to rethink their future decisions and path.

Why it matters: With Battlefield on its back foot for a few years, CoD became too comfortable due to the lack of competition. However, with healthy competition, it will ensure that both these series go all out in terms of quality, which is a win-win scenario for fans.

Currently, the pre-order chart is dominated by 2K26, followed by FC26, with Battlefield 6 securing the third spot. The fourth one is held by MGS3 Remake, and Black Ops 7 finally comes in at the 5th spot.

Looks like PlayStation fans have already chosen Battlefield as their go-to FPS for this fall, boycotting Call of Duty.

Over at Steam, a similar scenario was reported with Battlefield 6 dominating the charts while Black Ops 7 not even appearing in the top 25 list.

Black Ops 7’s Mega Jump Is Already Attracting Criticism

Battlefield 6’s beta and trailer received positive feedback, unlike Black Ops 7. The trailer for the new CoD game already has over 125k dislikes and is filled with hate comments, with the most liked comment stating, “This actually made me Pre-Order Battlefield 6.”

Even with all this pushback and negativity, Black Ops 7 devs aren’t fazed at all. In fact, they’re telling CoD fans to brush this off and that they remain committed to their plans.
