Black Myth: Wukong Could Be Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Report Suggests

One Of The Biggest Third-Party Releases For The Nintendo Handheld!

Story Highlight
  • Insider NateTheHate reveals a Black Myth Wukong port planned for Switch 2.
  • The announcement is expected at today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.
  • It’ll be interesting to see how the handheld will run this infamous demanding title.

Black Myth Wukong was one of those RPGs that put Chinese developers on the radar, going on to become the biggest release of 2024, and currently holds the record for the second-highest concurrent players on Steam at 2.25 million.

Now, 2 years after its original release, the game is headed for the Nintendo Switch 2, potentially becoming one of the biggest third-party releases for the handheld.

Why it matters: Black Myth Wukong was a shocking release and one of the most unique RPGs despite being a soulslike at its core. The title arriving on the Switch 2 will open it to a whole new fanbase.

This claim comes from insider Nate The Hate, one of the most reliable leakers in the industry, who dropped this massive bombshell in his latest YouTube video.

“I have heard this game is coming to Switch 2 at some point and that title is Black Myth Wukong.”

Nate expects a reveal at the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase scheduled for later today. The showcase is said to focus on third-party reveals, since support was lacking at release, and Nintendo is apparently making up for it.

Games like Resident Evil Remakes, Expedition 33, and more are expected for the Switch 2 at the Direct.

Anyhow, it’ll be exciting to see how the Switch 2 handles such a demanding game that even gave the RTX 5090 a run for its money, struggling to maintain 30 FPS at 4K Ultra.

The console versions weren’t that great either, and even the PS5 Pro struggled to output 1080p and failed to maintain a consistent 60FPS

The developers already stated it was a challenge to port it to Xbox Series X|S, which is why it arrived later on Microsoft consoles. Since the Xbox Series S and Switch 2 are similar in scale, expect the handheld port to run the same as the budget console.
