If you’re after an even more performance-oriented, high-end power supply, and have the budget to afford one, you cannot go wrong with the Enermax PlatiGemini 1200W Platinum. If you aren’t interested in overclocking and want a PSU that can comfortably power the RTX 5070 without any hiccups, the XPG Core Reactor II VE Gold is worth considering. It has an exceptional price-to-performance ratio, as the PSU relies on the CWT platform and has very durable internals despite having a relatively better price tag. There are cutdowns, like the lack of a hybrid fan mode, but we still measured great temperatures across varying loads, so overheating is not a problem at all.
As far as performance is concerned, the Core Reactor II VE averages around 92.11% efficiency in our tests, which is one of the main reasons why we are calling it a great value for money, as you don’t see such good efficiency at this price point. Similarly, we also noticed one of the tightest voltage regulation performances, as the PSU had a difference of just 0.33 on the 12V rail. This is one of the lowest voltage regulation differences we have seen, period. Lastly, I have to point out that its voltage ripple is not as incredible, especially when compared to the other PSUs I am recommending for the RTX 5070, but it is still more than enough to run the graphics card without any stability issues.
