- Battlefield 6 has received an M rating on ESRB for gore, violence, and strong language.
- The title will focus heavily on realism, with destruction already being a center point.
- Fans are thrilled about the title, and it is also one of the most wishlisted games on Steam.
Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be a massive hit this year and is even expected to leave Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in the dust. Not only did the beta do well, but EA has also focused on optimization to reach as many players as possible.
Now, according to a new update, Battlefield 6 gets rated M for gore, intense violence, and strong language. This is the first time a Battlefield game has gotten this rating for gore and excessive violence since 2015’s Battlefield Hardline.
Why it matters: The beta showed the game’s heavy focus on realism with huge destruction. The M rating for gore and violence proves that the game will be more realistic than ever, leading to great immersion.
While the ESRB full page isn’t yet available, we can already check that the Xbox and PlayStation storefronts have updated the games to have an M rating on ESRB. It features gore, intense violence, and strong language.
Fans are thrilled to find this out, as it means EA hasn’t held anything back. This is also the third Battlefield game to feature a mature rating for gore, with others being Battlefield 4 and Hardline, both of which were quite well-received.
While Battlefield 1 did have an M rating too, it didn’t feature gore. This highlights that Battlefield 6 has a heavy focus on dismemberment and other gory elements that make the gameplay more realistic.
