In an interview with Culture Combine, Mark Rolston spoke about his work in Arkham Shadow and how he does motion capture, voiceover, and everything. He added that they’re beginning work on a new entry soon.

We’re about to start another one of those.

Despite being a VR-only title, Arkham Shadow was a solid Batman title. Despite being handled by a different studio, every bit of Arkham DNA was present in the game.

Arkham Shadow was also a prequel to the Arkham trilogy and followed a much younger Batman, exploring his rogues’ gallery to the fullest. Despite being a Meta Quest 3 and 3S exclusive, the game sold really well, enough to get a sequel greenlit just within a year of its release.

Arkham Shadow’s sequel is speculated to follow a younger Batman. Interestingly, Commissioner Gordon’s VA Mark Rolston previously played Deathstroke in the earlier Arkham games.

These are exciting times to be a Dark Knight fan, surely. That said, Arkham Shadow will start development soon, and as such, expect a 3-4 year development cycle with a release date of 2028 at the earliest.
