- ARC Raiders has managed to surpass Helldivers 2’s all-time player peak of 458,709.
- It has also beaten Battlefield 6’s peak players in recent days, managing a great feat.
- Fans love the game so much that they’ve hailed it as the Game of the Year.
ARC Raiders has emerged as the most surprising hit of 2025. While the live service genre is super saturated at this point, it has become a standout for its great gameplay and a brilliant blend of PvE and PvP combat.
After recently beating Battlefield 6 in terms of player count, it has now managed another feat and beaten Helldiver 2′ all-time highest concurrent players on Steam, marking its place as the undisputed standout multiplayer for this year.
Why it matters: Live service games don’t really make it in the industry anymore, as we saw with Concord, unless you do things right. ARC Raiders hits all the basics well and has the potential to live for a long time.

Today, ARC Raiders hit a peak player count of 462,488, beating Helldiver 2’s 458,709 players. While the former has fewer reviews, they are generally more positive with a better universal reception as well.
ARC Raiders is also the highest-rated multiplayer game on Metacritic in almost a decade, with an 87 score, and is also being hailed as a contender for the Game of the Year award, which is huge praise for a multiplayer title.

Interestingly, it is showing no signs of slowing either. Previously, Battlefield 6 was showing better numbers, but for the last couple of days, the extraction shooter has surpassed the player count, highlighting how big it has become.
Another thing that helps the game’s cause is its optimization. Despite having trimmed Unreal Engine 5 features, it looks really good, but more importantly, it runs fine on almost everything, even without upscaling.
