Death Stranding 2 Also Suffers From Repeated Helpful Gameplay Tips Like God Of War Ragnarok

Be Ready To Hear Dollman's Constant Chattering!

Story Highlight
  • Fans are criticizing Death Stranding 2 because Dollman keeps repeating gameplay reminders, like Atreus in God of War Ragnarok.
  • Many posts on Reddit have fans demanding an option to be added to mute Dollman or to stop him from repeating dialogue.
  • Many Sony games feature NPCs who continue giving repeated tips and annoying advice throughout gameplay.

Death Stranding 2 has performed so well that some are calling it the best 2025 GOTY contender, while others claim it to be one of the best sequels in gaming history. While it may also have raised the bar for PS5 visuals, a major issue is still making fans upset with the game.

Many players have taken to social media to show disappointment with Dollman, a new NPC, constantly repeating reminders and gameplay tips while assisting Sam in his long travels. This is similar to the annoying tips from Atreus in God of War Ragnarok.

Why it matters: The issue of repeated tips by NPCs highlights a greater trend in modern AAA gaming: developers try their best to hand-hold gamers with visual and audio pointers throughout gameplay, which kills the sense of discovery.

Many Death Stranding 2 players are making memes about throwing Dollman off a cliff after hearing his constant reminders in gameplay. The dialogues only annoy the players who already know that they dropped the cargo or are using a sniper rifle without a silencer.

Unlike the original Death Stranding, Sam travels alongside Dollman for much of the game. Therefore, fans are suggesting that developers either add a button to mute Dollman or at least stop him from repeating the same reminders every time an accident happens.

Despite the repeated dialogue issue, Dollman as a character has been much appreciated by Death Stranding 2 fans for being a compassionate and fun companion to be around.

Death Stranding 2
Besides this dilemma, Death Stranding 2 has been dubbed a good narrative experience by fans.

In the past, Death Stranding 2 has also been rated poorly for having ‘questionable tropes around women,’ and it also faced a massive performance bug that affected many; the bug would heat up the PS5s and crash the game.

Do you think the Death Stranding 2 experience is ruined by having Dollman constantly repeating the same tips and reminders during gameplay, or is it still bearable? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers Forum.
