- Assassin’s Creed Shadows was delayed to next year as the game’s situation was quite grim.
- Now, following the delay, Ubisoft has also canceled the early access and removed the seasonal pass from the Collector’s edition.
- The collector’s edition will now cost $50 less and some design elements may change.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows recently saw a delay due to the poor sales of Star Wars Outlaws. The game seemingly needed more polish, and the controversy surrounding it at that time would have definitely hurt the sales.
While the title is still surrounded by controversy, it has dialled down a bit. The game will also be released on day one on Steam, so there is hope for better sales. That said, Ubisoft recently cancelled the game’s early access and season pass, and due to that, the collector’s edition price has been slashed by $50.
Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed Shadows was recently delayed, and now more changes in the plans show that the developer might be facing more hurdles than expected.
The developer recently confirmed the drop in the price of the collector’s edition in a Discord post. It revealed that the Collector’s Edition, previously costing $279.99, would now cost $229.99 as it does not contain some of the bonuses mentioned previously.
The developer revealed that on the console, it would cost $229.99 / 239.99€, and on the PC, 229.99€/$. Also, fans should note that the collector’s edition will now be available on the same day the game is released.
That is because there is no early access. The rest of the stuff will be included in the collector’s edition, but there might be some changes in the design, perhaps due to the previous allegations made against the giant. The game is set to launch on 14 Feb 2025 on PC and consoles.
