Diablo 4 Requires New Character For Each Battle Pass Season

New Fans Confused With This Decision!

Diablo 4 was released last month, and the game has already become the Blizzard fastest-selling game of all time, making over $666 Million in the first week of its release.

As the latest release in the franchise brought a vast number of new players to the game, many are still not completely used to how Diablo 4 works. This also means a new battle pass season has raised some concerns.

Much like other recent games, Diablo 4 introduces a battle pass, but the developers have recently confirmed that players will be required to create a new character for each battle pass season.

Why it Matters: Traditionally, games do not require players to start over for each battle pass. With games like Fortnite, players have become accustomed to using the battle pass with their existing progression.

Following concerns regarding the new season, journalist Paul Tassi tweeted and tagged Diablo developer Rod Fergusson. While replying to the tweet, Fergusson confirmed that players are needed to create a new seasonal character for the questline.

This means when your season ends, your new character will become your regular character, but players will not lose their other characters. Diablo 2 and 3 featured a similar system, but this led to some disappointment for newer fans.

Many believe they have wasted their time grinding the game. While none of the characters will be lost, new players do not see it this way.

This might encourage several fans to step away from Diablo 4, but the impressive gameplay could ensure that most people continue to enjoy the title.

The first season of Diablo 4 will begin in July, bringing a new battle pass and other changes to the game. As such, players are just a month away from the first season, which is expected to last about three months.
