Bully 2: Alleged Build Reveals More About Rockstar’s Forgotten Game

Bully 2 Had So Much Potential!

Bully is among the most well-known Rockstar IPs. The franchise has garnered a massive fanbase over the year, rivaling the popularity of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption at times.

However, Rockstar has not revisited the franchise in over 15 years. The game was initially released for the PS2, and fans have been waiting for a potential sequel. While a sequel seems unlikely, a new interview claims to have key details about a nearly decade-old build of Bully 2.

Youtuber Swegta has posted a new video interviewing a former Rockstar developer. According to the interview, Bully 2 had a playable build as early as 2013

The developer described that Jimmy looked older and taller in Bully 2 while maintaining most of his appearance from the first game. Bully 2 took place following the summer after Bullworth Academy’s first year, and Jimmy had allegedly aged about six months.

Side-quests like go-kart racing and lawnmower efficiency were also described. The interview also talks about the game’s sandbox, claiming that the earlier Bully 2 build was mainly based on the sandbox and gameplay loop.

Bully 2 allegedly included weapons like a bow and arrow with a plunger and beehives. Rockstar was still aiming for a Teen rating for the game, which meant that the guns were non-lethal.

The interview also expands on the characters for the game. Bully 2 aimed to introduce pets and a system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2 to interact with animals like dogs. The developer claims that some mechanics found in Red Dead Redemption 2 were adopted from this early build of Bully 2.

It should be noted that this information is not confirmed and should be taken with a slight grain of salt.

A Bully sequel has a lot of potentials, and many fans are hoping that Rockstar will revisit the franchise to make a new game set in the beloved universe. At the moment, Rockstar is busy working on GTA 6, so a sequel is likely many years out if it ever happens.

In the meantime, fans can play the original game across several modern platforms like the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
