After Overwatch 2’s dominion over hero shooters, it seemed like we would never see innovation in the genre. However, Marvel Rivals has completely shifted this belief, and now even DC is interested in producing a worthy competitor in the genre.
In a new statement, DC boss James Gunn clarified that he ‘totally’ wants to develop a Marvel Rivals competitor after the game’s highly successful journey so far.
Why it matters: The head honcho of DC wants to challenge Marvel Rivals with its own version after the game’s success. This way, we might get another great hero shooter to enjoy in the following years.

The DC boss also recently met with Rocksteady and Netherrealm Studios to discuss a new potential Batman project. So, we might be getting multiple projects from the DC universe as compelling games in the future. However, these games are likely many years away.
Another string of rumors suggested that Rocksteady Studios was also working on a whole trilogy for the Batman Beyond series exclusive to PlayStation. However, we must curb our expectations until we hear more details.
