Over 1.5 Million Copies Sold Since 2022!

The Persona franchise from Atlus has become iconic as a classic JRPG in the modern era. Following Persona 5, the franchise has found a new home on various platforms and continues to see incredible success.

Adding to this success, Sega has confirmed the franchise has now sold over 17 million copies.

Why it matters: The franchise has steadily grown in popularity, and the latest figure means that 1.5 million copies were sold in less than a year which consisted of older ports.

The franchise consists of various mainline games with plenty of spin-offs. While it has existed for over two decades, recent entries have elevated the JRPG series to new heights.

Coming to ports, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden were recently released for modern consoles and PC. Both games were also made available on Xbox Game Pass, where many new players tried the franchise for the first time.

From March 25th to April 1st,  a survey was conducted to determine the most enjoyable Persona game for audiences. Persona 3 took the first spot, while Persona 5 finished second, although Persona 5 is the best-selling game in the franchise.

Recent rumors have claimed that a Persona 3 remake is currently in development. The rumor came from a reliable source and could mean an even bigger audience for the franchise in the years to come.
