- Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was released earlier this year as one of the biggest expansions ever.
- It has now been hailed as the best game expansion at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024.
- It is also a great contender for the GOTY award at The Game Awards 2024.
Finally, as we are nearing the end of the year, the best games and expansions of this year are finally being rewarded, and it appears that FromSoftware is back to claim more awards.
During the recent Golden Joystick Awards 2024, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree wins the best game expansion of the year, beating God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla, Alan Wake 2 expansion, and many others.
Why it matters: Elden Ring dominated the 2022 year when it was first launched, and two years later, the title is back to bag more awards with its expansion.
Just now, Shadow of the Erdtree has been hailed as the best game expansion of the year at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024.
While many other expansions like Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla, and others were nominated, Elden Ring DLC came out on top.
Just recently, the Game Awards has also confirmed that expansions and Remakes would also be eligible to win GOTY, which fans didn’t receive positively.
The expansion has already been nominated for GOTY at The Game Awards 2024, and FromSoftware may again shine in the event next month.
Nonetheless, this is a massive milestone for the developer as the expansion already sold over 5 million units just a week after its launch, and it has now won the best game expansion of the year at one of the most significant gaming awards.
