More Yakuza Goodness Coming Up!

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio leads development on the popular Like A Dragon series. Also known as Yakuza, the franchise has spawned various games, with a remake of Like a Dragon: Isshin being released just a few months ago.

The studio has just announced a new showcase, the upcoming RGG Summit, for June 15, 2023 at 8PM PT.

Why it matters: The developer announced at least two new games last year, and the showcase has fans excited for more details.

Last year’s summit focused on the Yakuza franchise. This summit revealed games like Like A Dragon 8 and Like a Dragon Gaiden, also bringing back the famous protagonist Kiryu Kazuma.

As such, more information for both games is expected for the upcoming showcase. This may include new trailers, gameplay footage, and a potential release date for the much-anticipated titles.

Apart from this, the developer could also reveal a few surprises. Franchises like Judgment have not seen a new entry since 2021 and could potentially appear at the event.

Following recent games, the franchise has become extremely popular in the West. This has also encouraged the developer to bring a game like Like a Dragon: Ishin, which was previously exclusive to Japan, to other parts of the world.

The next few releases are shaping up to be more exciting entries in the franchise, and the upcoming RGG Summit should give fans a small hint at what to expect.
