Marvel 1943: Hydra was one of the most unexpected Marvel video game announcements, but it turned out to be the most exciting. Set during the WW2 era, the game features Captain America and Black Panther, the latter getting his own solo game soon enough.

Not much is known about the game except for the initial story trailer. However, Black Panther’s voice actor has just revealed a release date for the game. Marvel 1943: Hydra is currently targeting a release later this year during the holiday season.

Why it matters: With such limited information and several other video games in development, Marvel 1943: Hydra was speculated for a much later release. However, fans will be pleased to hear they can get their hands on the game later this year.

Talking with The Direct, Black Panther’s voice actor Khary Payton was asked about the project, to which he answered:

We’re still working. We’re planning on 2025… We’re thinking like a Christmas situation. But I’m so excited.

According to Payton, the game is still being developed, but a Christmas release suggests that Marvel 1943: Hydra is approaching its final development stages. We know the title has already been in development for five years.

Moreover, it’s also being developed on the Unreal Engine 5. The game is shaping into an exciting narrative-heavy title featuring an all-original story from the comic as source material.

The game’s director previously stated they’d aim for “Groundbreaking Moments” with the game. With photorealistic visuals. With such a great team working on the game and Marvel 1943: Hydra being Skydance Interactive’s first game, their success is almost inevitable.
