Cast Include Aaron Paul From Breaking Bad, And Other Celebrities!

Story Highlight
  • Dispatch is a narrative-driven, episodic game developed by ex-Telltale Games staff.
  • On the PlayStation Store, it’s rated 4.94/5, more than heavy-hitters like Clair Obscur, Death Stranding 2, and others.
  • The game follows a retired superhero in the task of managing supervillains.

Telltale Games’ narrative-driven titles have been sorely missed since the studio shut down in 2018 after filing for bankruptcy, and even after a revival, nothing more ever came out of them. However, some of the developers from the studio have now returned with an all-new banger that is dominating the PlayStation store.

Dispatch, a brand-new episodic game following the framework of earlier Telltale games, has now debuted on the PlayStation Store with a near-perfect 4.94/5 score. This makes it one of the highest-rated games on the platform, even beating titles like Clair Obscur and Death Stranding 2.

Why it matters: Episodic narrative games are highly regarded due to their interactive experience and the players’ ability to control the entire narrative. It’s great to see some Telltale Games’ developers, pioneers of this genre, back in action.

Dispatch Ratings On The PlayStation Store

Dispatch takes place in a universe where superheroes are quite common, and the protagonist is a retired superhero who has since retired after his giant armor suit was destroyed.

Robert Robertson is now tasked with handling a team of ex-supervillains, somewhat like DC’s Suicide Squad. If Robert does a good enough job, he can regain his superhero status with a new armor.

Just like all Telltale games, there are choices in dialogue and opportunities that change the entire narrative of the game. However, a new feature has been added, allowing players to control and adjust the stats of their supervillain teammates.

So far, the game has been receiving immense praise, and since Adhoc Studio is a new player in the industry, the game isn’t as well-known as of now. Hopefully, these strong ratings and positive feedback will soon give the game the popularity it deserves.

Currently, five episodes of the game are available, with new ones dropping at an interval of just a few days. Each episode features new characters that are cast by well-known celebrities like Aaron Paul, Jacksepticeye, Jeffrey Wright, and more.
