Since the dawn of this century, Rockstar has been delivering one generational game after another, achieving both critical and commercial success. And, without a doubt, the most anticipated game in the world right now is GTA 6, which is bound to be another hit for the publisher, barring a downright disastrous launch.
Rockstar has established a reputation for delivering high-quality games with minimal faults at launch. However, some believe that the company may not be the best place to work, particularly due to the large number of developers on staff.

In a new interview with Kiwi Talkz, Jeremy Bryant, who worked on Starfield and Skyrim for Bethesda, stated that Rockstar doesn’t sound like the best place to work and appears to be a terrible environment.
The former Bethesda animator went on to explain that almost 1,600 developers worked on Red Dead Redemption 2, while the number is likely around 3,000 for GTA 6, which is a distressing thought for him.
How do all those people communicate and form any kind of bond at work when it’s just a random thousand people. It sounds terrible.
According to Bryant, creating a video game with a thousand people in such a claustrophobic environment without communication is beyond him and sounds awful. The ex-Bethesda employee did praise Rockstar for the amount of polish the developer puts into its products.
However, Jeremy Bryant did show surprise at these results and questioned how the publisher achieves such results with so many developers. The animator also stated that Bethesda will likely not increase its headcount while developing The Elder Scrolls 6, instead sticking with its current artists.
We don’t know how Rockstar makes things work, but the success of titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 speaks for itself. With GTA 6 also reportedly being revolutionary and in development, with 80% of the publisher’s veteran staff involved, we can expect it to deliver a similar generational result.
