Bloober Team completely nailed the Silent Hill 2 remake project, gaining immense sales and positive reviews soon after launch. It won over many doubters and fans alike, so the gaming scene is now heavily scrutinizing the studio’s next works. Bloober Team recently announced Cronos: The New Dawn, a game where Eastern European brutalism meets retrofuturistic themes.
Now, the studio has shared new concept art on Steam to thank the supportive community and satisfy the growing interest. These shared backdrops reveal some extremely eerie similarities to Silent Hill 2.
Why it matters: Cronos: The New Dawn might be more similar to Silent Hill 2 than we initially thought, as the concept art features backdrops eerily similar to Silent Hill 2’s foggy landscapes.
The game will supposedly feature the same foggy and creepy backdrops that we have grown accustomed to seeing in the Silent Hill franchise—a tidbit that fans have greatly appreciated.
Another concept art gives a detailed look into the protagonist’s suit, designed to deal with temporal anomalies and exploring.
It will have various functionalities and tech that can come in handy while dealing with unimaginable monstrosities—like the next concept art shows.
Cronos: The New Dawn is being developed to feature retrofuturistic themes that look out of this world. It takes inspiration from the great survival horror franchises like Dead Space, Alan Wake, and Resident Evil.
All in all, Bloober Team’s next game is surprisingly confirmed to be coming out during 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, but no release date is known yet.
Do you think Cronos: The New Dawn will set a new standard like the Silent Hill series did all those years ago, or will it get overshadowed? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.
