- Secret Level’s new Concord episode features teasers for characters that never even came out in the game.
- The game died way before these characters could arrive through post-launch updates, making users mock the advert.
- Many users have made fun of the trailer for asking them to explore Concord, which is completely impossible now.
Instead of a sweeping success, Concord became one of the fastest AAA titles to flop in the whole of the gaming industry. The title did not even stay afloat for a month, as servers soon shut down after player counts dropped to mere double digits. The developer behind the failure, Firewalk Studios, also soon shut down after the whole ordeal.
Now, Amazon’s animated Concord episode seems to unintentionally mock the dead game. Secret Level’s ad for the upcoming episode features teasers for characters that we’ve never seen before in the title.
Why it matters: Secret Level’s new Concord episode has already become a mocked spectacle in the community before it could come out. Users have made fun of the trailer for featuring characters that never arrived in the game.
After Secret Level posted the ad on Twitter, users quickly pointed out that it only featured characters who were not in Concord. These were likely planned to arrive in post-launch updates over time. In contrast, the original trailer only had characters that were included in the main game.
So in an almost painful development, the ad does not include even a single character from the base game. This new crew of characters includes a fish lady, an alien, and many other unique faces that we’ve never seen before.
All in all, most users in the comment section have shown their disinterest in this trailer. They reacted pretty negatively against the advert as you’d expect, with many mocking the new animated episode for being about a game that’s already far gone.
Do you think Sony pulled the plug on Concord way too soon before waiting for these updates, or did the game deserve to meet its end? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.
